It has been twelve years since I live in Paris. Every one or two years, I go back to China to spend dozens of days with my family. More and more often, I feel that I am far away from my own culture. This scares me. So I want to keep the bond. 

Recently I have constantly been surprised and very proud each time I see a Chinese creation, which is contrary to the kitsch, vulgar or poor quality when we prejudge Made in China. So I made this website, to learn and to share what is happening on the Chinese creative scene. 

This word「esthesinology」is invented, combining esthetics and sinology.

已经在巴黎待了快要十二年了。每隔一两年，可以回家一趟，和父母住上十几天。时不时感到自己离家越来越远，离自己的根越来越远。这让我感到害怕。

近年来，常常为国内当代创作感到骄傲，与花哨、俗气、低质量的中国制造大相径庭。所以我想用esthesinology这个网站来分享中国当代的创造力。

esthesinology这个词是由esthetics和sinology组成，意义分别是美学和汉学。
